Canberra Private Schools introduces Kolbe Catholic College in Rockingham, for all your education and learning needs.
Founded in 1989 by Brother Pat Carey, of the Christian Brothers, Kolbe is a co-educational secondary College situated in picturesque grounds within the Rockingham educational precinct.
Since inception, Kolbe has grown to be a thriving community with an enrolment of nearly 1000 students from Years 7 to 12. The College’s motto,Courage, Faith, Excellence, inspired by our patron, St Maximilian Kolbe, challenges students to capitalise on their many gifts. They are assisted in this endeavour through our diverse and rich array of learning opportunities, both within and outside of the classroom.
Diversity of student learning has shaped our teaching and learning program. Our goal is to prepare students for the world of the future and hence we embody a strong focus upon digital learning, with a 1:1 Laptop Program for middle school students. Student learning extends beyond the classroom through the use of wikis, blogs and a well resourced Student Intranet. To provide balance, the College’s impressive Arts Program engenders a creative approach to learning and enables students to develop higher order thinking skills. Kolbe students are fortunate to have access to outstanding facilities and resources that are the envy of many.
A ‘never give up’ approach permeates the culture of our community. Whether it is through serving others as part of our Christian Service Learning Program, having the courage to display leadership, aspiring for academic excellence or participating in one of the College’s many extra-curricular activities or extensive sports program, students are always encouraged to give their best performance.
Welcome to Kolbe Catholic College one of the popular educators in your Rockingham area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
