Canberra Private Schools introduces Mary Mackillop College in Nundah, for all your education and learning needs.
Mary MacKillop College was opened as a day school in 1963 by the Sisters of St. Joseph and was first known as Mt. St. Joseph’s Students Secondary School. In 1970 the name was changed to Corpus Christi College to avoid confusion with other schools in the area. In 2009, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mary MacKillop's death and canonisation, the Sisters of St Joseph renamed the College, Mary MacKillop College.
The Sisters of St. Joseph are a Religious Order founded in Australia in 1866 by our first Australian Saint, Mary MacKillop. In keeping with the spirit of the foundress, Josephite schools continue to have a strong emphasis on faith, community and pastoral care as well as on an education suited to the needs of today.
Today the College has an enrolment of 500 and its students are drawn from a wide range of Brisbane suburbs. The school caters for Years 8 to 12 and has a teaching staff of 35. It is expected that the College will move to incorporate Year 7 in 2015/16.r.
Welcome to Mary Mackillop College one of the popular educators in your Nundah area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
