Canberra Private Schools introduces Padua College in Kedron, for all your education and learning needs.
Since 1956, Padua College has had a strong tradition of educating young men in the Franciscan tradition of courtesy and respect.
As an educational institution that prepares its young men for a variety of life choices, the College curriculum offers students a wide choice of subjects from the traditional subjects such as English, Maths and Science to vocational and certificate courses. Throughout their time at the College, the young men also participate in outdoor education and community service.
Perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of the College is the Pastoral care program which is firmly based on the principles of care and respect for each student. The House Guardians and Pastoral Care teachers work together to assist each boy to achieve, not only his learning potential, but also develop his spiritual awareness and sense of self-worth.
Padua College’s Information Technology ensures that our Physical Network Infrastructure, and Information Architecture, is of an Enterprise quality. Technology at Padua College continues to broaden and the continued work and investment provides an enormous advantage in the way that the students learn, access, and utilise technology. An e Learning Coordinator, an integral part of Information Technology at Padua College, is responsible for providing ongoing IT training for all Padua College staff members to maximise the benefit of the technology that continues to flourish.
Thus, Padua College provides an education which is, on the one hand, relevant to the needs of modern society, while on the other, it is firmly based in the time honoured tradition of Saint Francis of Assisi and its patron, Saint Anthony of Padua.
Padua College offers a vast co-curricular program, with Sport being a major part of this extended educational experience. The students are most certainly encouraged to be involved and engage in the multitude of sports on offer along with other activities, such as Debating, Chess, Social Justice programs to name a few, which broaden a student’s skills repertoire and experiences.
Padua College boasts a long and proud Franciscan tradition in Music. Since Padua College’s inception in 1956 there has been music, both choral and instrumental, in some form at the College. Padua’s rich musical tradition continues today under the auspices of the Franciscan Colleges Instrumental Programme (FCIP). There exists an extensive range of instruments taught through the FCIP and Padua College offers a music bursary. Students enrolled in the Programme will experience tours, camps and visits to an array of venues to showcase the talented students. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to join the various vocal ensembles and liturgy group which enrich the life of the College. School Musicals are also an integral part of College life.
Welcome to Padua College one of the popular educators in your Kedron area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
