International House was founded in 1957 with the express aim of bringing local and overseas students together in order to foster personal and academic development within the context of a multi-cultural residential environment. The ideal which inspired the founders of the House was that it should be a means of helping to provide international understanding as well as providing the numerous educational and social advantages of college life.

Today, International House is a vibrant and exciting community of nearly 300 young men and women coming from Australia and over thirty countries around the world. The International House experience aims to develop the potential of residents and equip them with the skills to work successfully as global citizens.
