Canberra Private Schools introduces Acpe - The Australian College Of Physical Education in Sydney Olympic Park, for all your education and learning needs.
P is a tertiary education institute that specialises in psychology. By being true specialists, we have a deep understanding of human behaviour, which resonates throughout our courses. We seek to understand and make sense of the interactions and implications of human behaviour. What makes people do the things they do? What effect does society have on our actions? Why do we behave a certain way by ourselves, but differently in groups?
Our approach to teaching in these specialist fields is what makes us different. It’s why curious souls choose to learn and develop their skills with us. Whether you want to excel in counselling, social work, criminology or psychology, it all starts and ends with human behaviour.
Established over 35 years ago, the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP) offers courses in psychology, criminology, counselling, coaching, case management, and social work from diploma through to masters level. Our courses prepare students from diverse backgrounds for rewarding professions working with people in the community. There are also pathway options to further study available, to suit students’ priorities and career aspirations.
We currently have over 4,000 students studying on-campus, online or by blended delivery, which is a combination of on campus and online for those wanting to access our courses from remote areas. Our campuses are situated in convenient CBD locations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide with easy access to public transport and entertainment.
Courses can be studied full-time or part-time and students can choose to start in February, May or September depending on the chosen course.
WHY DO STUDENTS CHOOSE ACAP?
Students choose to study at ACAP as our teaching staff have extensive experience both as teachers and practitioners, with a breadth of research interests. We also have smaller class sizes allowing for a greater level of discussion, support and a better opportunity to ask questions, which assists students to achieve success.
Another advantage of studying at ACAP is the student placements which help to prepare students for professional practice after graduation. In courses with placement included, students have the opportunity to apply theory in a professional workplace for a set period of time, gaining essential real-life experience in their chosen field.
ACAP is a registered higher education provider and a nationally registered training organisation. Our psychology degrees are accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC), counselling degrees are accredited by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), our coaching degree through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and social work programs are accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Professional accreditation ensures these courses meet the relevant educational and training standards for graduates to seek recognition and practise in the profession.
Applicants of undergraduate courses at ACAP must provide a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE) or a Certificate IV upon application, in addition to undertaking an interview (this application criteria does not apply to CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services (Case Management)). ATAR results will not be necessary in the application process.
Welcome to Acpe - The Australian College Of Physical Education one of the popular educators in your Sydney Olympic Park area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
