Canberra Private Schools introduces Maitland High School in East Maitland, for all your education and learning needs.
Maitland High School, established 1883, is a comprehensive high school that caters for students from diverse backgrounds and a rural drawing area. It successfully marries traditions from over 100 years as one of the original group of NSW Boys' High Schools, with skills to meet the needs of tomorrow. The school community strives to ensure students live by its motto "En Avant" ("Go forward"). This is evidenced by: The school's recognition, 1996 to 1998, with three successive Director-General Awards for programs of excellence in literacy, student welfare and environmental education; the presentation in 1999 to Mrs J. Smith (music) and Daniel Proctor (Year 12) of prestigious NSW Minister's Awards for Excellence; a heavy emphasis on peer-based support programs, relating to tutoring in literacy and numeracy, welfare, mediation and leadership; high level outcomes from information technology programs and a strong band development program; and strong links with associations of former students, as well as highly active collaborative governance bodies.Welcome to Maitland High School one of the popular educators in your East Maitland area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
