Canberra Private Schools introduces Somerville House in South Brisbane, for all your education and learning needs.
Somerville House is a day and boarding school for girls, established in 1899. It is located in the inner city Brisbane suburb of South Brisbane just two kilometres from the city centre and directly opposite South Bank parklands. The main entry is from Graham Street.
The School is owned by the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA) and is related thereby to Brisbane Boys College, Clayfield College, and Sunshine Coast Grammar School, the other schools connected with the PMSA.
Somerville House provides classes from Preparatory to Year 12, within three sub-schools — Junior (Years Prep to 6), Middle (Years 7 to 9), and Senior (Years 10 to 12).
The School provides excellent opportunities for students to participate in an extensive academic, sporting and cultural program, as well as setting high standards in personal care and attention to individuals within the School community.
Welcome to Somerville House one of the popular educators in your South Brisbane area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
