Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Primary School Earlwood

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School was established in 1923 by the Sisters of Mercy from North Sydney, under the guardianship of Fr. J Smith of Tempe. Since that date the school has served the educational needs of the children of Earlwood parish and assisted parents and carers in the education of their children in the Catholic faith.

Today Our Lady of Lourdes is a well equipped, vibrant primary school of just over 400 boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are truly blessed to work and learn in a contemporary educational environment. We provide strong focus to our core purpose: Teaching and Learning and Religious Education.

The school culture promotes learning as an ongoing process in which is shared by all members of the community. Of particular importance is the place of parents and carers, who are encouraged to continue an active role in their child's learning. Open communication, mutual respect and co-operation between home and school are recognised as being essential to the progress of the students and to the success of our school.

Our school curriculum emphasises the importance of all Key Learning Areas (KLAs) with particular focus on Literacy, Numeracy and Religious Education. We offer specialist programs including English as a Second Language (ESL), Reading Recovery and Special Education to assist all students to reach their full potential. Italian language classes, music, visual arts, the integration of Information Communication Technology (ICT) into the teaching and learning program and a focus on Asian Studies are all important features of our school curriculum.

Our teachers are highly competent, skilled educators who are committed to developing high quality programs that challenge all students. Together with the support staff, they carry out their mission in strong partnership with parents, the parish and the wider community.
