Canberra Private Schools introduces Minerals Industry Safety And Health Centre in St Lucia, for all your education and learning needs.
MISHC is one of six centres that comprise the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) within The University of Queensland. During its first five years of operation, MISHC was financially supported by a number of major mining companies, along with in-kind support from the Queensland Department of Mines and Energy. The original companies providing financial support currently operate as Anglo Coal Australia Ltd, BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto.
Since its establishment in 1998 MISHC has become internationally recognised as a world-class centre of excellence and a leading provider of Minerals Industry Risk Management Education (G-MIRM) for the global Minerals Industry. MISHC integrates risk management knowledge into undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education programs delivered to the minerals industry across Australia.
MISHC, through its collaboration with industry partners, has developed resources that assist with the management of minerals industry safety and health risks. The Minerals Industry Risk Management Gateway (MIRMgate) was first released in 2004. Since that time, new 'GATES' have been developed through collaboration with industry partners, and supported by funding provided by the Australian Coal Association research Program (ACARP). These 'GATES' provide free access to online materials (some interactive) designed to assist with the management of Minerals Industry health and safety risks. Click on the links to discover how EMESRTgate, TYREgate, ISOLgate and COMPLIANCEgate and the National Minerals Industry Safety and Health Risk Assessment Guideline (NMISHRAG) can help improve your site risk management.
The Earth Moving Equipment Safety Round Table (EMESRT) was formed in 2006 to establish a process of engagement between mining customers and Original Equipment Manufactures; a process designed to accelerate the development and adoption of leading practice designs of earth moving equipment to minimise health and safety risks.
Welcome to Minerals Industry Safety And Health Centre one of the popular educators in your St Lucia area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
