Canberra Private Schools introduces Albany Senior High School in Albany, for all your education and learning needs.
Albany Senior High School was built on the north western side of Mt Clarence in 1924. Being on the other side of the mountain to the ANZAC War Memorial, and where a person can look out across King George Sound from where the fleet left Australia for Gallipoli, it is not surprising that the school has a rich history associated with its iconic buildings.
The school’s vision statement, “A tradition of opportunity and success”, connects our past with an unfolding future. Our history reflects proud traditions, and there is a commitment to maintain what is good, but we are open to positive change. These traditions are centered on our iconic blazer with it distinctive green, brown and yellow stripes and our school crest.
The school’s crest contains the words, “Keep Troth”, reflecting the notion of commitment to being true to oneself, the school and the greater community. This commitment is clearly seen in the staff and students’ attitude to Country Week where our teams have bought back the prized Champion School trophy eight times out of the last 12 years. Our commitment to the overall community is seen in the engagement in a number of environmental projects. This is seen our marine studies program where staff and students are part of the process of monitoring the health of our community’s pristine marine environment. This program has been published by the Education Department in “Beyond The School Gate – Classrooms Connecting with the Community.
Welcome to Albany Senior High School one of the popular educators in your Albany area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
